In Canadian trampolining Shasta Club top bouncers
The Shasta Trampoline Club may never become one of New Westminister’s famous sports groups to rank alongside the Salmon bellies. Bruins and Royals But just making people aware of its existence will be notoriety enough for now. Organized by Valerie Hancock of Coquitiam. the three-year old club operates out of the New Westminster Community Centre and has developed many of the best tumblers and twisters in Canada; the seven competitors on the Canadian team who will leave later this month for the world trampoline championships Oct. 5-7 at Newcastle. Australi, four are from Shasta They include two I5-year olb, Noma Lehto of Coquitlam, a two-time national junior women’s champion and Christine Tough of New Westminster, a two-time national runner-up to her team mate. Todd Legree of New Westminster and Tim Cleave of Surrey, both 17, win ads’) be making the trip to Australia in the Canadian senior championships, finished fifth among 38 competitors at the last world event.
